SUNSiNG Collective

Over the course of four years, from 2018-2022, I created video content for ARTivism Virginia. The SUNSiNG Collective was an integral part of ARTivism Virginia. The arts community that made up this vibrant and talented group of activists fighting fracked gas pipeline projects.

A new anti-pipeline anthem, “To The River”, was written by Joshua Vana, a member of the SUNSiNG collective and the current head of ARTivism Virginia. The song was performed by the SUNSING collective group and the video was filmed on various locations along the proposed routes of the Atlantic Coast Pipeline and the Mountain Valley Pipeline. The sound was recorded live on site using a solar powered recording van called the Sun Bus. To showcase the individual talent behind the SUNSiNG Collective, I created short videos to introduce the members. Each ARTivist explains how they use their music and art to speak out against environmental injustice.
