Landowners rapid response guide

Jill and Richard Averitt own property in Nelson County Virginia. When their home and the resort complex they were planning to build was threatened by the Atlantic Coast Pipeline, they became tireless advocates for landowners’ rights and fought the Atlantic Coast Pipeline for 6 years Luckily for them, their hard work paid off and the Atlantic Coast Pipeline was cancelled.

The trauma that landowners go through when threatened by eminent domain and the seizure of private property is hard to describe. In an effort to help others who might face the overwhelming uncertainty and confusion about the eminent domain process, Jill deigned the Landowners Rapid Response Guide and asked me to provide a series of how-to videos to accompany her detailed guide.

Jill’s Landowners Rapid Response Guide is the backbone for the Property Rights and Pipeline Center’s Website.
